
Glazed Chicken Bao

Ingredients
- 6-8 Frozen bao/lotus leaf buns
- 1 lb. Diced chicken
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp minced ginger
- 1 Red chili finely minced (optional)
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp dark soy sauce
Instructions
- Heat bao buns according to package instructions.
- Fry diced chicken at 350F for 3-4 minutes, until it's crisp on the outside and reaches an internal temp of 165°F.
- In medium saucepan, combine oil, ginger, chili, honey, brown sugar, and dark soy sauce. Bring to simmer and reduce heat.
- Add fried thigh meat to saucepan with glaze and stir until chicken is coated. Cook for 1-2 minutes to set glaze.
- Fill prepared bao buns with glazed chicken. Top with desired garnishes, such as: cilantro, sliced chili, scallions, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts.
